Disrespect to reader and fellow authors should never happen

Hello Everyone,

Hope this Sunday morning finds you all well. In the publishing industry there are things/situations that should never take place. Disrespect to a fellow author or especially a reader should not happen, the publishing world is too small for that. However, I was a part of a group with an author name Danielle Leach a group I never joined, an author who also be friended me, not the other way around. Well, when I requested to be removed from the group I was completely disrespected and put down in a way that I have never read before. Maybe in her writing circles that is how things are done.
However, it should not be. I simply posted: Please Remove Me From This Group. And the dispect began. When I asked if she was insulting me because I asked to be taken off, oh, she continued in very colorful terms. I didn't respond back. However, what upset me more was that a reader currently deployed asked to be removed shortly after she then started disrespecting that person. So, I am sending this messages out to everyone in my facebooks (all of them), posting it on my blogs, in my reader groups and every other forum. Below I have posted a copy of her messages to me and the reader.

But, I give you permission to forward to any readers, book clubs, authors, author groups and blogs. You may delete any deragotory message that come through to your inbox. I apologize in advance. Be Blessed!

I Grabbed the Bronze Medal...

As you all may know by now, I captured the bronze medal spot in the All Romance eBooks contest. Yup, I did, with all of your help. You should be proud, I am. I feel really great about it. Finally Awake!

Everyone,

Let me tell you how much fun I had this past weekend in NJ at the Authors After Dark conference. LOTS! It was one of the BEST conferences I've ever attended. The hotel, food and set up was outstanding. It was not only the most inexpensive conference I've attended, but they provided more things than larger ones. Like buffet style meals and personal up close time with big name authors. Everyone was made to feel welcomed from the moment of arrival whether you were a reader or author. Oh, my goodness, so much stuff was given away in baskets and door prizes. I lost track of how many Nooks people won. The gift baskets were loaded with incredible things. If you did not attend this year, than you need to MARK YOUR CALENDER for next year. It will be in Philly. I drove from NC to NJ and it was well worth it. For all who attended the IR/MC panel thank you, it was great to hear from readers about what they want and where they'd like to see the publishing business head with the MC books. Also, those who came to the Golden Girls of Romance Cheesecake mingle we appreciate it. That was so much fun and i hope you got to know Denise Jeffries, Leigh Ellwood, Bridget Midway and me a little better.

Hello Everyone,

I know it has been a long time since I posted. Forgive me for that. I have been at a week long conference then when I got back I had edits to review and a short story to finish. Well, the story is done. I got the edits back from editor at the end of last week. The short story is part of Tease Publishing's The Ties That Bind anthology. The print will release at a later date, but my short story, Lady Justice, will release 15 June 2010. Yes!! I will have a couple more shorts out this summer. But, I am working hard on a full length to have completed by Sept 2010, because I am going to the Author's After Dark Conference in September. Yup, I will be driving up from NC to NJ. If you all have not signed up already you may want to do so. The conference will be a great time. I'm on a couple of the panels. I am both nervous and excited about that.
I'm finishing up an early Christmas story because I know how much you all enjoy a holiday read. Why wait until December? Hahaha.

Everyone,

2009 was such a year. I came in number 1 with my publisher for 2009 sales and I know that is all do to the faithful readers I have. My book sales last quarter where the highest I have EVER achieved, once again hat off to my readers. I would like to thank you all for allowing me to keep writing stories for you another year. Also, for all the e-mails of support and comments you sent to me. In 2009, I began a long requested newsletter called SASSE Sheets. It allows me to have contest and give aways to those who are connected to it. In 2010, you all will see more stories from me. Short and long. If I have done a certain type of story in the past and you would like to see it again, drop me a line. You know how to reach me. ;)
One change I will have, I will no longer post contest on this site. All of my contest from here on out will be done through my yahoo group. I love giving gifts, but I like giving them to the faithful readers who take the time to give me support and encouragement.

I know it has been a minute or two since I spoke to your all, but my Master's program is kicking my tail... lol! In a good way. But, I give myself time to do a little writing and sometimes even less reading. But, over the Valentine's month I did allow myself a a great short read, by a rising author name Laura Kitchell called Undercover Lover. I enjoyed the story so much I had to tell you all about it.

Romantic Suspense

Okay Everyone,

I am not normally the type of reader who enjoys romantic suspense. I love suspense movies, but not books, because honestly I will flip to the end and rush to see what happened and if I was right in my earlier assumptions.
But, I picked up Aliyah Burke's book Sin is not a Four Letter Word. I have reader several of AB's books in the past and enjoyed them. So, I thought well, this book is a different genre of romance, but I'll try it. Can I say I loved this book twenty times and you all believe me? I loved it. The heroine (Sinjin)in the book is kick ass, like it is nobody's business and boy does she have reason to be. She's got a chip on her shoulder as big as the iceberg that took out the Titanic and a wall around her heart like the Great Wall of China. Now, the hero (Mace)is struggling with emotions of betrayal and righting a wrong from the past, but he has a compelling need for Sin that just won't quit.
This book reads like a good suspense movie. There is always something happening and going on new at each page. But, never to complicated that if you are not a suspense reader you will be confused. Aliyah Burke is a multi-faceted writer that has written a book that is hot, intense and gripping to the end. So, if you haven't read this book or anything by this author...pick it up in eBook or print. You will not be disappointed.

2009 has start off as an amazing year for Yvette Hines. Yes, little o'le me. First, I discover that my cover One Reckless Night got an Honorable Mention. Then my publisher releases the top five list and I came in number one for December. Than to top it off, I went to All Romance eBooks chat and scrolling down on the first page what do you think I saw. On the top ten list for ARE was Holiday Affair. Can you believe it, I came in number 9. That was one of my items on my wish list. I would look at that list frequently while on the site buying books and think, "One Day I'd love to see my name on there". Well, 7 Jan 09 must be the day. ;)
ARE have a lot of heavy hitters. That site isn't for lightweights or those writers who have thin skin.
For even better news, Coming Together: At Last with my story Shot at Love will be out this month. Volume 1 and 2, with LA Banks doing the forward. I'm in Volume 1. Well, hello, Everyone,

It is December and things are moving fast toward 2009 and looking up. I am just all to piece tonight. Not only did I have a wonderful evening with my hubby and daughter, but I get home and have my new cover for Holiday Affair in my e-mail. That's it to the right, isn't he just delicious. Yum. Kendra in Tease Publishing art depart did it and I love it. How many of you lovely ladies would like to snuggle up with him this winter... in a cabin. Well, a lucky lady got just that.

Wondering what I'm talking about, well, you'll soon discover. Holiday Affair will be out this Christmas at ARE (all romance ebooks). As soon as I have the release date I will let you all know. So, be scanning this page, because you know I'll give someone a download just for telling me they want it. But, don't go filling up my e-mail right now, I haven't made any announcements yet.

The reviewers comments were right on target with the The review received four pixies, and on top of that, I LOVED the reviewer's comments. I really enjoyed both stories but for completely different reasons. HEATED RESTRAINTS is lighter and more humorous and I enjoyed it for those elements. ARRESTED HEART is more touching and heartwarming. Together they make a very nice one author anthology that I think you will enjoy as much as I did.

WOW! AMAZING! Those are the two words I want to use to describe the treatment, turn out and fellowship of the ladies at the Jeanie and Jayha yahoo group. This erotica writing duo can't be beat. I've never laughed so much in one evening on a chat. And fellow authors don't get me wrong, these ladies are no slouches...they are readers. They do their homework on a guest author. Oh, my God everyone,

Has this been my week or what. There are soooo many exciting things that are happening for Yvette Hines. First off,a few months ago Crystal Bright (a romance author) post an open call for submissions. The submission was for an Anthology called Coming Together: At Last. If you know anything about these, Alessia Brio is the editor and brains behind this. She asks authors of romance, poetry and erotica to contribute stories to these anthologies. Only catch is that you get no royalties because the money errand is sent to the charity the book is selected for. So, I thought the concept was great and I love a worthy cause so I wrote a story and submitted it. Now, the best news of all is that Ms. LA Banks has agreed to do the opening notes for the book....!! Talk about scream, and jumping up and down. I called all my friends and family and told them. That woman is a Jewel. No matter how big her name gets... she is one of the first authors to help the little people. LA Banks, you are tops.

If you have not read Zora's Chance by Aliyah Burke by now, you need to pick up a copy. This story was so delightful, I had to read it twice before posting. This story made me laugh, smile and fan myself more than ten times. Chance is a worthy hero. He is intense and sexy on sooo many levels. Zora is carefree and funny with a heart of gold. I enjoyed this story. If you like a hot, erotic IR, here you go. The last thing I have to say is Ms. Burke, Colonel Taylor McQueen needs his own book. That man... I've just finished Enchanted by Nancy O'Berry, a new author with a delightful seafaring tale to tell. LOL! I loved the short mermaid story. Dominic and Serena had an attraction to each other from the beginning, however O'Berry did an excellent job of not rushing the moments in the beginning of the relationship. I must say that my favorite seen is when Domonic stares at Serena in her "imprisoned" mermaid form. What can I say, I'm a romantic dork for a scene where there is a connection between the two main characters, that they don't understand the significance of at the moment. ;-p

April Showers...or is it IRS raining down on us?

Well, April is here and showering upon us in Virginia. It's 65 degrees one second, then raining, then a chilly 54 degrees. Boy, the pollen jocks (bees) don't know where to come out or not. Well, now that bees have started buzzing that means that I am packing up my scented lotions until the Fall. Why you ask, hmmmm, because Honeysuckle is my favorite scent...need I say more? LOL!! Well, lots is on the way from me. I'm working hard on books that will be out next year, but deadlines our this year. Like my Coming Together: At Last story. For those of you who don't know, Phaze one of my publishers does a charity anthology every few months. The authors or publisher don't get any of the money it all goes to charity. So, stop by the Phaze's homepage and see all the ones that are out. They are print books for my paperback turning readers. LOL! But, there are one for Hurricane victims, San Diego fire victims, AIDS, Breast Cancer and soooo many more. So, support a worthy cause this April after you finish going crazy with taxes on 15 April!! If you buy enough of them this year and give them out as gift it could possibly be a write off for next year! Well, you'd have to buy an awful lot of them, but hey, one book is a start in the right direction. ;-p

What's going on...

Well, things are really moving for me this holiday season. My book The Marriage Clause came out in print and eBook. I've been getting great reviews and interviews. See Fallen Angels Reviews and Shades of Romance Magazine. I've met some awesome readers through contest and people who just stop by to say how much the enjoyed reading one of my short stories or books. This Christmas is shaping up nicely.
I have a few book signings set up for the month of December. I will be at a SistaGirl Book Club holiday party, I will also be signing books on the 15th at the Pink Banana an erotic toy shop with about five other authors. That's going to be a wild time. If you live in the Hampton Roads area stop on in and say hi.
Just for a reader treat I wrote a hot holiday short story that will be a free read at my publisher website. There will also be a contest with it for goodies so make sure to stop by Tease Publishing and see what new...

Chantal’s father, now deceased, owned a chain of luxury hotels and Stephen’s father had a large string of affluent jewelry stores located in Montgomery Hotels worldwide. Ten years ago, the fathers had added an addendum to their extensive contract. The two would marry when Chantal took over the business. Her maiden aunt, Marilyn, had run the business until now, but the change of command was imminent. This transfer of leadership would take place that night at a dinner party at which time Stephen and Chantal would announce their upcoming marriage.
Neither Chantal and Stephen were happy, but were raised knowing that their positions upheld business agreements. The wedding was held one month later and Stephen left immediately for his office in Spain. During the months that followed, even though there was little contact between them, the sub characters were very actively involved in both their lives. Stephen’s best friend, head of security for Lexington Jewelers, and Liza, Chantal’s best friend, were solid, sensual people who had an underlying love story of their own. The Board of Directors for Montgomery Hotels produced several different characters which challenged and/or helped Chantal.

This is a great story which easily flowed through the lives of both the main characters and their friends and employees. There was even a villain determined to recapture her stronghold on Stephen. The plot was well defined and presented a manuscript that I found hard to put down. There are some kinks in their overall relationships that caused additional stress on the newly-married couple. However, the little tidbit at the end will surprise even the biggest skeptic!

Ms. Hines has done a fine job with this story. I truly believe that anyone would enjoy this book. It had its sensual incidents, which were so good, but the story was not limited to the sexual scenes. I highly recommend you read this book.

This book starts out with a bang (pun intended!). Nicole has worked for Marco Department Store for 3 years and was absolutely in love with David, the second son. Steven, the oldest, was an open flirt and he irritated Nicole with his pursuit. David, however, was so different from Steven; he kept his distance from the employees and never pursued any of them. Nicole would go absolutely crazy with lust whenever David entered the room. He was aloof, though polite; he was friendly, but distant. No one really knew how he felt about things, but they absolutely knew how Steven functioned because he was involved with several of the women at the store!
Mrs. Marco pushed Nicole constantly. Nicole was required to help her with much that the store's job description did not demand. That included wearing an elf costume all day long and to the party which followed the workday. Nicole kept busy with behind-the-scenes activities until David came after her and insisted she leave the work behind and join the party. And then, after the party ended, her car refused to start and David had to take her home!

This is an outstanding novella with loads of fun and explicit sex. The story contains much sexual activity and graphic language. It is not overly offensive and is skillfully written. Ms. Yvette Hines is a new author to me, but this will not be my last book of hers that I read. I wholeheartedly recommend this book!

I'm still recovering from lack of sleep. :) But, is went off to my Tease Editor a week ago. Now, it's nail biting time as she goes through it who her red pen, until I get it back. Good News the story will be out in November of this year, so all of you waiting breathlessly to see something full length from Yvette will not have long to wait.

It has been a while, but I am finally back on American soil. Man, I missed home. My deployment is over, but while I was in Kuwait I got a chance to do a lot of serious writing. Since I've been gone, I have a story called To Have and To Hold coming out in December in Phaze's Fantasies 6. I will give you all a little expert later on to wet your whistle. I also completed a story called Heated Restraints, which I was submitting for a short story, but the publisher liked the characters so much she asked me to expand it for an early release in 2008. So, more to come on that front. When you all scroll to the bottom you will see a book called The Marriage Clause, my book pick of the month. This will be out with Tease publishing in January 2008, but in November 2007 you can pick it up in e-book if you would like. Tease is a new small print press house. If you look in my links section you can drop by the site and see what is coming soon with them and hey while your there enter the contest. :)

Deployed BUT Still Writing

Well, everyone. Things have been crazy this year in 2007 so far. If you haven't alreay heard, I'm deployed in support of Iraqi Freedom, but I'm still writing. Currently, I'm editing four short stories for my anthology One Reckless Night, so that I can get it out the door to some editors. I'm also working on a story called To Apprehend a Princess for Phazes Force Heatsheet. It's interesting learning to writing in a tent, but I deal with it. I've learned how to keep myself mentally inspired while I'm out here among all the bugs, animals and other things. LOL! But, I am staying safe and well.
Speaking of Phaze, I found out in January that Santa's Helper was number 1 in sales for December. Thank you all so very muc for your support. I hope you all will like Speed Dating my second erotica, as well as you liked the first one. :) If you haven't seen the trailer for it yet. Check out the last post. Speed Dating is available today 11 Feb 2007. So, drop by Phaze and check out all of the great Heat Sheets and books they have going on. What's New for 2007?

Well 2006 ended very well, I got some great reviews for Santa's Helper from both review sites and on Fictionwise from readers. That warmed my heart. It was great to see what readers thought of my first erotica and their thoughts placed the book number 1 for highest rating for three weeks. Not because I had the most sales, not by a long shot, but because over five readers consistently said it was great. NOW THAT FELT GOOD TO SEE!
Well 2007 is going to mean MORE YVETTE HINES. I have another short story coming out with Phaze for Valentine's Day (Feb 11th). Here's a little sneak peak for you all.
Speed Dating

Jenna Taylor a legal secretary is in love with her deliveryman, Malcolm Douglas. Apprehensive about how to go about getting him to notice her, she begins to order packages daily in an attempt to force his hand. Other things that are up and coming. I finished my Anthology One Reckless Night. I'm now editing and getting reading to send it out to different publishers. 1. This is a really hot romance with two very appealing characters. David and Nicole have a lot of chemistry, but just have not connected until the Christmas party. When they do connect, the pent up feelings are explosive. The other characters are well done also; Steve is very sleazy and Mrs. Marco is very abrasive until the end. "Ho, ho, ho." A deep voice vibrated through the room.
Nicole stopped. Just the sound of David's voice caused her heart to speed up. Fearing if she moved too suddenly she would make a scene by passing out at his feet.
As she'd been alone in the room, Nicole hadn't thought about ladylike posturing when she leaned over, knees slightly bent with ass high in the air as she arranged the packages. Now she glanced over her shoulder and recognized David dressed in a Santa suit. Nicole watched as his gaze traveled across her backside. Heat flooded her sex as he eyed her.

As if he'd heard her, David's burning stare suddenly met hers. Clearing his throat, he held up two gift bags in his hand. "I…someone just brought these."
Are you flustered, Mr. Marco? Smiling internally at the thought, Nicole stood up and walked toward him to retrieve the gifts. Taking the bags from him she purposely brushed his black gloved hands with her fingers. Strong hands. He even made the Santa Claus suit look sexy. Using this moment to turn on a little charm, she smiled at him and spoke softly, allowing her voice to take on an intimate tone. "Thank you, Santa."
His gaze dropped to her mouth.
Kiss me. Nicole begged.
For a moment, it appeared as if he would do just that as he leaned in. Instead, he quickly stepped back from her.
She kept her disappointment at bay.
"You know, Nicole, you don't have to be my mother's beck and call girl." He straightened his glasses on the bridge of his nose as if his small moment of weakness caused them to slip out of place.
"If I want to keep my job I do," she confirmed.
David shook his head. "No, Nicole, your job is not in jeopardy. Why do you think Mom gives you more responsibility then the other staff?"
A single shoulder lifted and dropped quickly. "Because I'm easier to push around."
He chuckled.
She liked the sound, deep and masculine.
"No. It's because she can trust that you'll do the job right the first time. Every time," he declared.
"You say, potato…I say potato." Nicole commented, nonchalant.
Returning to the tree, she added just enough sauciness in her steps to cause the skirt to bounce slightly up and down, showing off the top of her red and white stripped thigh-highs. Bending over at just the right angle, she gave him a full view of her green bloomers. She wished she'd the foresight to remove them so he could see her thong which matched her festive stockings.
Taking her time to right herself, she turned back to him. "Is there anything else I can do for you, Mr. Marco?"
"Yes."
Her breath hitched. She was afraid to breathe, hoping her Christmas wish would come true.

Great news everyone. My first erotica Santa's Helper got 4.5 blue ribbons from Romance Junkies. I am so excited. I have been on pins and needles for weeks wondering how it would be recieved. Yvette Hines's SANTA’S HELPER is a quick read full of fun characters, witty humor,and lots of occurrences of Murphy’s Law. Nicole comes across as a nice personwho’s just allowing herself to be pushed around by her employers and I felt badfor her, but by the end of the story I wanted to high-five her and yell "you go,girl." David is a genuinely nice guy who’s put his career ahead of his personallife but now that he’s finally getting his own store he’s ready for a personallife and he wants Nicole.

Making it hotter

Well, I am running full steam ahead with novella 4, to finish out the anthology. As well as trying to complete a BDSM short story by 1 December. That has been interesting work with researching it. That man of mine has been great, finding sites and information for me. It is such a switch when it's the woman in the house looking at adult sites instead of the man. (Now that's a laugh) But, I am having great fun and learn interesting things. I will keep you all posted on any new developments. Maybe, by the time this novella is complete I wont be VANILLA any more. Chow!

I have been the busy little bee. Not only have I finished up the third novella in my anthology, but I've also discovered the love and passion of making book teasers or trailers. Nicole has been working for Marco department store for three years and has loved David, the owner's middle son for just as long.
